5:45-7:15 pm Power Yin Yoga Sadhana - Samadhi Integral Life Practice Center, Newton Center, MA

This class is a Power Yin class that goes a bit more deeply into traditional Yoga practices like meditation, chanting, and pranayama breathing.


7:15-8:45 pm Power Yin Yoga - Samadhi Integral Life Practice Center, Newton Center, MA

This class is a slightly lighter practice, though still feels like Power Yin Yoga.


4:00-5:30 pm Prenatal Yoga - Samadhi Integral Life Practice Center, Newton Center, MA

No experience required - all of the practices and techniques learned will directly benefit your pregnancy and birthing process.

What is Power Yin Yoga?

Fall in love with the experience of your body - all over again.

Power Yin Yoga is the expression of Kelly's passion for transformation in practice. In this practice, it is understood that realization comes from going deeper into the body rather than by escaping the body - this comes from the Tantric branch of the Yoga tradition.   Here, "Power" refers to the depth and length of time postures are held.   It's a physically intense practice, steeped in a deeply meditative experience.   In this practice "Yin" refers to the quality of softness and opening that is encouraged through every breath.   Power Yin Yoga combines these two elements to find physical intensity in the depth and length of time holding postures, but all steeped in a restorative, and meditative experience.

In classes, you are encouraged to hold postures longer and simultaneously find heart opening and acceptance of what shows up.   Each practice begins with meditative breathwork for several minutes, and ends with relaxing restorative postures.   Another signature trait of Power Yin Yoga is the inclusion of spinal flexes, moving your spine with your breath to find moments of flowing integration throughout the physical intensity and softening.   It is a deeply satisfying practice that leaves you with a uniquely alive and grateful feeling in your body, heart, and mind.

Power Yin Yoga is influenced by alignment principles found in Anusara and Ashtanga Yoga, as well as the poetry and depth of Sofia Diaz's Hatha Yoga.   It is also shaped by Kelly's years studying with spiritual elders from many traditions, and her extensive explorations of nature and meditation.
