Kelly Larson, MA, is a certified Yoga teacher who studied Ashtanga and Hatha yoga in Nasik, India at Yoga Vidya Dham. Her teaching is most inspired by renowned teacher Sofia Diaz. Kelly has been leading various types of Yoga and meditation for over 10 years. She is the Director of the Center for the Study of Yoga and Health, and is traveling training other Yoga teachers to provide evidence-based Yoga to help people step into greater health. Currently Kelly has a private transformational consulting practice that also focuses on evidence-based yoga called Breathe Into Balance.
Kelly received her Master's degree in Integral Transformation from Prescott College, and is currently finishing her doctoral work in the Transformative Studies program at California Institute of Integral Studies. Her PhD focus is a study of the relationship of Yoga, the body, and consciousness.
Kelly's focus as a facilitator is to guide people to lead increasingly authentic and empowered lives. She recognizes that the practice of Yoga and process of transformation are mutually supportive. Kelly seeks to explore creativity and growth throughout the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of individuals in her workshops and classes. She offers a meditative yet challenging practice.
Kelly's background includes transformational consulting - supporting people to create and sustain healthy life changes, teaching, organizational development, intuitive and spiritual consulting and healing work, visual arts, writing, and a variety of other life-informing experiences. Kelly has extensive experience guiding individuals, groups and organizations through learning and growth. She is generally passionate about learning and exploring her creativity, as well as deepening her contemplative and physical practices.
One of Kelly's passions is the practice of the Yoga of Sustainability. Check our her thoughts in the article "The Good Earth" in Yoga Journal's May 2009 issue. Kelly and other permaculture and Yoga experts were interviewed to share this natural blend of sustainable lifestyles with more people.
